Inoperable Starter Pistol Found In Student Locker
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police say an 11-year-old student at Holabird Middle School in Baltimore was arrested after an inoperable starter pistol was found in his locker.
Baltimore County Public Schools spokesman Charles Herndon says an investigation involving county police indicated the student did not plan to threaten or hurt anyone. A starter pistol is typically used at sporting events and shoots blank shells or caps, not bullets.
The incident came the same week that a fight between two Perry Hall High School students led to assault charges for one student and an increased police presence at the school.
