Suspect Arrested For Arson In Seat Pleasant

SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials say a fire at a vacant house in Seat Pleasant was intentionally set, and a suspect has been arrested for arson.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 500-block of Eastern Avenue about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. They found a blaze on the second floor of the home. It took about 25 minutes and 35 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.

One firefighter was burned in the fire. That person was treated and released at a hospital.

Fire investigators said Sunday that they determined the fire was intentionally set. A 42-year-old man was arrested on the scene and is charged with arson. Officials did not immediately identify the suspect.

Fire damage is estimated at $100,000.
