Md. Officials Urging Drivers To Stay Off Roadways

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Officials in Maryland are asking residents to delay travel until after it stops snowing in the state.

The Maryland State Highway Administration and Maryland State Police were asking residents to stay off roadways Saturday. The National Weather Service says the western part of the state could see six to 10 inches of snow, and officials are working to clear roadways as snow falls in the area.

Officials are asking drivers to delay travel so that crews can keep roads clear and not have to use resources to rescue stranded drivers.

Officials say if drivers must travel they should be aware visibility is down in many locations. Drivers should also remember that state law requires drivers to use headlights any time they are using their windshield wipers.
