Akron Blows Out Coppin State 91-63

AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Zeke Marshall was one of three Akron players with a double-double in the Zips' 91-63 rout of Coppin State 91-63 Wednesday.

Jake Kretzer and Nick Harney scored 14 points apiece, with 12 and 11 rebounds, respectively, while Marshall finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Brian Walsh added 14 points for the Zips (9-4).

Ahead 14-10 at the 10:49 mark, Akron took its biggest lead of the period with a 28-10 run to make it 42-20 with 1:12 left in the half. Walsh had 11 points in the period as Akron took a 42-27 lead into halftime.

Akron extended its lead in the second half, shooting 52.8 percent (19 for 36), while holding Coppin State to 28.9 percent (11 for 38).

Akron outrebounded the Eagles 61-32, and outscored them in the paint 44-18.

Troy Franklin (26 points) was the only player in double figures for the Eagles (3-12).
