GARRETT COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) — The victim of a fatal fire in Garrett County has been identified.

Roger Reckart, 37, was located inside the burned remains of his camper trailer on Horseshoe Lane in Oakland.

The medical examiner says Reckart died of thermal burn injuries received during the blaze.

Twenty-five firefighters responded to the fire Friday evening.  Investigators determined no working smoking alarms were present during the investigation.

Investigators says the fire originated inside the trailer as a result of combustible materials within close proximity of a portable kerosene heater.

Damage is estimated at $1,500.
