Western Md. Man Pleads Guilty To 3 Bank Robberies
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- A 50-year-old man has pleaded guilty to three bank robberies in Cumberland.
John Allen Talerico of Cumberland entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Baltimore. He faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison for each count at sentencing May 3.
According to his plea agreement, Talerico robbed three banks in 2011. In each robbery, Talerico approached a teller, pointed what appeared to be a large semiautomatic handgun and demanded money.
Prosecutors say Talerico got more than $31,000 from the banks.
