Ravens Nation Flocks To 'Baltimore South' For The Big Game

NEW ORLEANS (WJZ) -- Ravens fans have taken over the Big Easy. Many say they aren't going to make it inside the Superdome for the big game...they're just here for the party.

Jessica Kartalija reports.

Sundown in New Orleans and Baltimoreans know how to party.

"Welcome to Raven Nation. The experience is awesome! Got everybody here," a fan said.

It's Ravens Nation in the Big Easy.

"We're excited, we're ready to go," a fan said. "This is Ray Lewis' day. This is Ray's day, it's going to happen."

"Just to be in this atmosphere, it's very vibrant. It's an amazing feeling," another fan said.

Some are still without seats.

"Trying to decide if it's worth a month's rent to go to the Super Bowl and I think it might be at this point," a fan said.

"We don't have tickets, just happy to be here," another said.

On the eve of Super Bowl XLVII, Ravens fans have a new name for New Orleans.

"This is Baltimore South, man. We're here to rock out, Baltimore South!" a fan said.

Even Baltimore's top brass continue to party with hurricanes at Pat O'Brien's.

"Excitement. We have turned New Orleans into Ravens Nation. Everywhere you go there's nothing but purple," Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said.

Alicia Keys and Beyonce will also be performing. Fans say they cannot wait for that. Those who can't make it to the Superdome say they plan to gather in bars throughout New Orleans.
