Man Charged With Fatal Shooting After Dice Game

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis police have arrested a man they say fatally shot another man after a dice game.

Clarence Eugene Johnson III, 24, surrendered to police on Wednesday. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses in the death of Joseph Johnson III, 33, of Brooklyn. The Johnsons are not related.

Police say on Dec. 12, Clarence Johnson and Joseph Johnson were involved in a dice game for money. Officers say Clarence Johnson, upset over losing money, left the home where the game was played.

Authorities say Clarence Johnson returned to the home, went inside, and three gunshots were heard, before Clarence Johnson left again.

Joseph Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was injured and taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
