Howard Downs UMES 49-45

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Anton Dickerson came off the bench and scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half as Howard downed Maryland-Eastern Shore 49-45 Monday night in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.

Howard (7-22, 4-11) trailed 35-23 with 10:50 left, but charged back with a 23-2 run, including a span of 4 minutes when Dickerson hit four 3-pointers. The Bison led 46-37 with 2:15 left.

Dickerson knocked down 6 of 10 from the field, including 5 of 8 3-point attempts, and also grabbed five rebounds. Tre Lee added 11 points on 7-of-8 free-throw shooting for the Bison, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-22, 2-11) dropped its second straight and ninth in its past 10. Louis Bell and Dominique Cowell each had 14 points for the Hawks, with Cowell hitting 4 of 8 from 3-point range and Bell draining 3 of 6.

The Bison held a 38-27 rebounding edge.
