900+ Plunge Into Md. Lake's Waters For Charity
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- More than 900 people plunged into the waters of Maryland's Lake Habeeb at Rocky Gap State Park, all in the name of charity.
The Cumberland Times-News reports Saturday's so-called "Hooley Plunge" raised more than $100,000 for the Special Olympics of Allegany County. This was the ninth year of the plunge.
Participants braved temperatures of 32 degrees and a wind of seven miles per hour in order to take the plunge.
