Woman Dead After Crash In Westminster

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- The Carroll County Sheriff says a woman is dead after a car crash in Westminster and weather is considered a factor in the crash.

The sheriff's office says the crash happened Monday at 6:45 p.m. in the 2300-block of Uniontown Road. The sheriff's office says Kendyl Puckett, 18, was traveling on Uniontown Road when her vehicle left the roadway. She apparently then overcorrected and struck a Honda Accord.

The driver of the Accord, 45-year-old Jill Bowers of Westminster, was pronounced dead at the scene. Puckett and a passenger riding in the Accord were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff's office says charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
