State Senator Credited With Helping Catch Thief
OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- State Sen. James Mathias is being credited with the arrest of a man on theft charges after Mathias saw the man acting suspiciously in his Ocean City neighborhood.
The Capital of Annapolis reports Mathias noticed a suspicious man near his home on March 10. The man was getting close to vehicles and homes and acting suspiciously. Mathias, a Democrat and a member of the Senate since 2011 and a member of the House of Delegates before that, said he followed the man in his car for a short time and called police.
Police arrested Matthew Jacob Bullen, 21, and charged him with theft and tampering with vehicles. Police learned Bullen had broken into three vehicles and had taken items from them.
