Steve Davis: Ravens Luck Into Dumervil
Sure, the Ravens were lucky to get Elvis Dumervil.
But, you know what, I do believe in the saying "luck is when preparation meets opportunity." They were prepared for this because they didn't throw away money on other free agents, or their own players, early in free agency.
They waited.... and waited... and when other teams had spent their money, the Ravens seized the opportunity.
They still have holes to fill, and they probably won't get a star like Dumervil, but they will probably get some competent free agents at reasonable prices, which they need considering their cap situation.
By the way, this is the second time after winning the Super Bowl they have signed an Elvis; hopefully, this lasts longer than the Grbac run.
