Former Oriole And Current Co-Host Of Baltimore Baseball Tonight Joe Orsulak Talks Opening Day

Joe Orsulak

Former Baltimore Oriole and the co-host of Baltimore Baseball Tonight Joe Orsulak joined Ed & Steve to talk about the upcoming season for the Orioles.

Steve asked Joe about the biggest question mark for this Oriole team. Joe said they have a lot of question marks but the biggest one is can they come even close to repeating the performances of last year. Can the pitching come through from starting pitching to the bullpen, it will be interesting to see if they can do it again.

Ed asked Joe if the Orioles have the offense to be a competitive baseball team. Joe said they need to be quicker to adjust and help the pitching staff out in case the pitching isn't the same as it was last year.

Steve asked Joe if the league catches up to players in year two. Joe said absolutely, the longer you are in the game the thicker the scouting report becomes for each player. Joe also said the great players are the ones who make adjustments to their game quickly and become tougher to predict and play against.

Ed asked Joe if he is buying in to the Blue Jays running away with the division. Joe said it's tough to tell so far because while the Blue Jays did add a bunch of great players they still need to gel together and be able to co-exist with one another. Joe said it will depend on the kind of people these players are and if the coaching staff will vibe with these big time players.

Joe also said it is way too early to write off any team, anybody any year can win in baseball. Joe added that he does believe the Yankees are headed for a slide this year, because with Jeter out their chemistry is off.

Joe made his picks for the AL East saying that Toronto wins the divsion the Orioles second then Tampa, Boston, and the Yankees at the bottom.
