WASHINGTON (AP) — The Corcoran Gallery of Art will exhibit works from the National Gallery’s collection while the National Gallery’s East Building undergoes renovation.

The Corcoran announced the exhibition plans on Wednesday. The East Building renovation is expected to take three years.

Also on Wednesday, the board of trustees announced the Corcoran will stay in its building on 17th Street.

The board of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and Corcoran College of Art + Design also said it is exploring a potential partnership with the University of Maryland. The two institutions signed a memorandum of understanding.

UM officials said the potential partnership could involve developing new courses, joint degrees, and innovation studios in product design and digital arts.
