WEATHER BLOG: What A Weekend!

Sunshine dominated both days, while highs jumped from 54 degrees Saturday to 68 degrees Sunday.  If you like the warm weather and have been missing it (since we spent most of March below average), get ready to make some outdoor plans this week.  Our average is now 62 degrees, but we are going to spend the week way above that average.

There are a series of fronts that will skim us as they pass to our north.  That means that there is just the slight chance for a shower Monday and Tuesday.  However, these fronts are drawing even warmer air our way.  There is one thing that we have to watch for.  At this same time, a new round of colder air will be making a push from the north.  We are pretty sure we will remain on the warmer side of the fronts with highs in the 70s both Monday and Tuesday before possibly jumping to the 80s Wednesday.  On the other side of the front, maybe as close as New Jersey or New York City, temperatures will be about 20 degrees cooler.

A new, stronger front will move our way Thursday into Friday.  This one will really hit the South with severe weather before moving toward the Mid-Atlantic with rain and maybe some thunderstorms.  It will remain warm Thursday (maybe near 80 degrees) before the front roars through and knocks us back down to reality.  Highs Friday will be back down in the low 60s again as the rain tries to move away.
