Man Pleads Guilty To Child Sex Offense
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Delaware man has pleaded guilty to traveling to Washington to have sex with a minor.
James Powell, 48, of Bridgeville also pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in federal court in D.C. on Thursday. He faces up to 30 years in prison at sentencing July 11.
According to the government's evidence, Powell communicated online and by text message with an undercover law enforcement officer. Prosecutors say Powell arranged with the officer to meet in Washington with a young girl. Powell was arrested at the meeting place and has remained in custody.
