Mont. Co. Police Issue Nearly 80 Traffic Citations

ASPEN HILL, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say nearly 80 drivers were cited during pedestrian enforcement "stings" in Aspen Hill.

Traffic Division officers in bright-colored clothing staged the operation Wednesday morning at the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Turkey Branch Parkway.

Most of the citations were for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk, but others were given out for a child seat violation, driving on a suspended license and equipment repair orders.

Similar pedestrian enforcement will be conducted throughout the rest of the month.
