Motorcade From Walter Reed May Affect Traffic

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Authorities are warning that a motorcade from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda to New York City may affect traffic during the morning and evening rush hours along Interstate 95 and the New Jersey Turnpike.

Baltimore police say the multi-vehicle police motorcade will escort a group of injured military service members from Walter Reed to New York City for a law enforcement tribute event on Wednesday. Motorists can expect roving lane closures

The motorcade left Bethesda around 7 a.m., and is traveling on Interstate 95 to the New Jersey Turnpike. It is expected to arrive in New York City by noon. The motorcade will leave New York at 6 p.m. and arrive back at Walter Reed at 11 p.m.
