2 Hurt When Scooter Hits Police Car In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City Police say an officer and another person were hurt when a motor scooter rear-ended the officer's patrol vehicle.

It happened about 2:15 a.m. Monday on Coastal Highway at 41st Street. Police say the officer was stopped at a traffic light when a scooter operated by 25-year-old Edward Thomas Johnson of Salisbury crashed into the rear of the patrol vehicle.

Police say Johnson was thrown from the scooter. He and the officer were taken to area hospitals.

The crash is under investigation.
