Sentencing In Md. Home Invasions Postponed

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A sentencing hearing has been delayed in Montgomery County for a man convicted of home invasions, burglaries and forced sex acts upon women.

Kevin Darnell Ray, who was convicted in April of crimes including burglary, armed robbery and false imprisonment, was to have been sentenced on Thursday. But a spokesman for the state's attorney's office says the hearing before Circuit Court Judge David Boynton was postponed after Ray fired his own lawyer.

Prosecutors say Ray committed crimes across the D.C. metropolitan area last year.

In one case in Bethesda, prosecutors say he tied up residents and sexually assaulted a housekeeper before getting away. He was arrested in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
