JOPPA, Md. (WJZ) –A three-alarm fire breaks out at a Joppa hardware store.

It happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson True Value Hardware.

The store is in the 900-block of Pulaski Highway.

Firefighters from multiple units, paramedics and other emergency personnel reported to the scene.

The Harford County Hazardous Materials Team also responded due to the contents of the store potentially being hazardous.

Firefighters were later told to evacuate the building and fight the flames from the outside, some on aerial ladders.

Two firefighters from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department were injured while battling the blaze.

One was transported to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. The other was taken to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center.

Both the east and westbound lanes of Pulaski Highway were closed between Mountain and Joppa roads for hours.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
