Orioles columnist Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun joined Zinno to talk about the Birds 3-game sweep over the Yankees this past weekend. Connolly stressed the importance of beating the Yankees, even if the Bronx Bombers aren’t playing their best baseball. It means a whole lot more as well because the Orioles haven’t done that in the Charm City since 2005.

The conversation turned to the Orioles future and which players the team should extend first. Both Zinno and Connolly agree that catcher Matt Wieters is the number one priority to sign going forward. His value as a catcher right now is already high because of his defense. If his offense improves, his value will only go up.

Finally, Chris Davis magical season continues and the idea of Davis hitting 60 home runs came up. Again, both men agree that it is unlikely he will hit 60 because it is so tough to do, but watching him play this year has been nothing short of impressive.
