Metro To Close Red Line Stations For Weekend Work
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says it's closing several stations on the red line for weekend work.
Metro says beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through closing on Sunday, free shuttle buses will replace red line trains between Silver Spring and NoMa-Gallaudet.
The Takoma, Brookland and Rhode Island Avenue stations will be closed. Fort Totten will be open for green and yellow line service only. Metro says travelers who use the shuttle buses can expect to add up to 30 minutes to their travel times.
In addition, on the orange and blue lines, trains will operate every 16 minutes throughout the weekend because of rebuilding work.
No work is scheduled on the yellow and green lines.
