Friend Of Victim's Daughter Arrested In Rodgers Forge Homicide

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ)—Baltimore County Police have made an arrest in the homicide that rocked the Rodgers Forge neighborhood last week.

Donte Stephens, 36, was found dead in an overturned car on Murdock Road in Rodgers Forge last Wednesday. Now  a 22-year-old Baltimore City man has been arrested for his death.

It unfolded around 5:30 a.m. on July 17 when officers responded to the intersection of Murdock Road and Blenheim Road for a report of shots fired. Just west of this intersection, police found  Stephens inside an overturned vehicle, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Stephens' vehicle damaged several other parked vehicles when it crashed.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled the case a homicide.

Police say Stephens was living at a home on Murdock Road with his girlfriend and her daughter.

The suspect is an acquaintance of the daughter. Detectives also learned that several days before the homicide, the Stephens and the suspect got into an argument. However, the exact motive for the homicide has yet to be determined.

There are no known gang connections in this case.

Additional details will not be released until the suspect is formally charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
