Pasadena Man Arrested For Shooting Girlfriend's Dog To Death

PASADENA, Md. (WJZ)—An Anne Arundel County man is arrested for fatally shooting his girlfriend's dog.

Police say it just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 700-block of 224th Street in Pasadena.

The man's girlfriend called police to report that her dog was shot, and she was uncertain if the suspect was still in the house or the condition of her dog.

When police arrived, they found 33-year-old Clint Matthew Mowry in the front.

Mowry was immediately taken into custody.

Officers then searched the home and found a small, mixed breed dog in the kitchen dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say Mowry and his girlfriend recently adopted the dog. When the dog nipped at him, Mowry became enraged and retrieved a handgun.

His girlfriend attempted to retrieve the dog and leave with it, but police say Mowry chased the dog into the kitchen, where he shot and killed it.

Mowry is charged with cruelty to animals and reckless endangerment.
