Phil Simms from CBS joined the Norris and Davis show to discuss the Ravens training camp and the Pitta injury.

Steve started out by asking Phil Simms about the injuries during training camp. Phil said the severity of the injuries we see lately during training camp is alarming. It is almost like there is an epidemic.

Ed asked about the loss of Pitta.  Phil said that there is no doubt that last year Pitta became more apart of the offense. With the loss of Bolden and Pitta the receiving corp took a huge hit. Shiancoe although and average run blocker will be a boost in the receiving group. Simms said he will be curious to see if the Ravens go out and try to find another WR.

Ed asked about Joe Flacco. Phil Simms said that winning a Super Bowl will loosen you up a bit. Success and positive reinforcement will do wonders to your confidence.

Steve asked about Simms thought on the Ravens defense. He said Elvis Dumervile was a huge signing. The Ravens might just be the biggest team in the NFL. Simms really likes Huff and Elam, two really big impact players on the defensive side of the ball.

Simms finished up by saying the 49ers are a dominant team and they have a great coach who cares so much about winning. The 49ers are the class of the NFC. Their offseason additions were big and they are the favorite in the NFC.
