BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Maryland State Police arrest a Baltimore man in connection with the distribution and possession of child pornography.

Brian Allan Bielanski, 28, was arrested Wednesday and charged with eight counts of distributing and two counts of possessing child pornography. If convicted of the charges, Bielanski could be sentenced up to 90 years in prison and/or fined up to $205,000.

Last March, police say a trooper found a person sharing child pornography over a file-sharing network. The trooper continued to monitor the activity, and a search warrant was served at Bielanski’s house.

The Maryland State Police Computer Forensics Laboratory forensically examined the computer and recovered photographs depicting children involved in various sexual activities.

Bielanski is awaiting an initial appearance before a court commissioner.
