MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Erin is making its way across the Atlantic and could weaken slightly in the next day or two.

The National Hurricane Center said Saturday that Erin was centered over the Atlantic Ocean, about 815 miles (1,310 kilometers) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands. It was moving northwest at about 12 mph (19 kph).

It does not pose a threat to land.

The storm’s maximum sustained winds were around 40 mph (64 kph), though it could begin losing some strength on Sunday.
