Firefighter Injured In Halethorpe House Fire

HALETHORPE, Md. (WJZ) -- A firefighter was injured while putting out a house fire Tuesday morning.

Mike Schuh has more.

Fire crews reported to the 2000-block of Hammonds Ferry Road in Halethorpe at 1 a.m.

Firefighters saw flames showing through the roof of the building.

Shortly after arriving on the scene, one firefighter was hurt and the blaze was briefly upgraded to a two-alarm fire.

The firefighter was removed from the building and transported to Shock Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.

The fire was under control within an hour.

The home was occupied, but firefighters say no one else was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
