Caw Caw! Ravens Fans Celebrate NFL Opener At Inner Harbor

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) — The NFL football season is officially underway, and it kicked off with a spectacular show in downtown Baltimore.

Kai Jackson has more on all the excitement at the Inner Harbor.

The Ravens are a two-time Super Bowl winning team, and Baltimore has some of the most enthusiastic fans in the NFL. All of that makes for an exciting kickoff.

Baltimore Ravens fans have taken over the Inner Harbor. The 2013 NFL season kicked off with a lot of people and a big celebration.

Country music singer Keith Urban was downtown with a free concert to help fans forget some of the frustration of their Super Bowl team starting their season in Denver.

"We won the Super Bowl, we deserved it. It should have been at home, but what can you do?" said Samah Alvi.

The preps, the set-up, the pictures--all of it helps satisfy the appetites of those hungry for football.

"I think it says a lot for the team and a lot for the city. I think Baltimore's an up and coming city and we're making our mark. You know, with the Grand Prix and with the Ravens and everything, it's a lot going on down here," said Joe McDeshean.

Ravens fans are already excited about the start of the new season, so this NFL Experience is just icing on the cake.

"We have a solid team this year. Our offense is a little... kind of on the fence about it right now. But our defense, I think we have some fresh young legs out there," said Mobeen Alvi.

"I really appreciate the fact that they brought this out to the community. Seems like everybody is having a really good time. There's a lot to do here, a lot of events going on," said Anglea Basnight.

Baltimore area bars and restaurants were also packed with fans watching the game.
