Man Charged In Killing Of Laurel Couple

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Laurel man has been charged with killing a couple inside their home last spring.

Prince George's County police say Thurston Lamont Yerby, 47, is charged with first- and second-degree murder.

He's accused of killing James Vell Ferguson and Tina Towler, whose bodies were found in May inside their Laurel home. The couple cared for Towler's disabled adult daughter, who was found by police in the home and who is the care of the state.

Police said Friday that Yerby and Towler were having a romantic relationship, and that Yerby has been linked through DNA to the scene of the crimes. Police say they don't have a motive.

It wasn't immediately clear if Yerby had a lawyer, and no telephone listing could immediately be found for him.
