I know he did not have a statistically great performance, but I thought Joe played well. And considering everything he had on his mind, it was exceptional.
I don't care what people say about childbirth, and what little role that us guys play. You still want to be there, just to make sure everything is okay. I get it, that there was nothing he could do to help. I didn't find it to be this incredible experience when my kids were born; it was incredibly stressful.
For him not to be there had to be difficult.
I'm certain that, prior to the game, he was not in his regular mindset, nor doing his regular pre-game prep.
Yes, I know the baby was born by the time the game started. Still, he had to wish he was there to see his baby for himself. He played well, and if his teammates had done a better job catching the ball, he would have had a 300 yard, 3 TD game.
