Md. Man Hospitalized After Being Punched At Party

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Officials in Carroll County say a 21-year-old Eldersburg man is in critical but stable condition after he was punched in the face at a party and hit his head on the pavement.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office says the man was at a party in Westminster on Sunday when Michael Schwartz Jr., 20, of Eldersburg punched him in the face. Officials say the attack around 1:30 a.m. was unprovoked.

Officials say the victim fell to the ground and hit his head on the pavement. The fall knocked him unconscious and he was taken to the hospital.

Schwartz has been charged with second-degree assault.
