Chickens Killed, Horses Rescued From Md. Barn Fire

JEFFERSON, Md. (AP) — Twenty-five chickens are dead but 15 horses are safe after a barn fire in Frederick County.

The county’s fire and rescue agency says a barn, a two-story garage and a loafing shed were destroyed in the fire early Monday on Holter Road.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire. The initial damage estimate is $1 million.
