'Jersey Boys' Comes To The Hippodrome

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- One of the most popular Broadway musicals returns to Baltimore. "Jersey Boys" is now playing at the Hippodrome Theatre and WJZ has a sneak peek.

Linh Bui went behind the scenes to see how the cast gets into character.

They were one of the biggest pop sensations of all time and this is the story behind the music. The award-winning musical "Jersey Boys" charts the success of the Four Seasons and their greatest hits.

"These four guys from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey and it's about how they made it to ultimate fame and they became the soundtrack to a lot of people's lives," said cast member Rachel Schur.

WJZ talked to the three female cast members. They play more than 52 characters who come with extensive wardrobes.

"This show covers the 50s, 60s, 70s up until today. So we get to wear beautiful dresses that are 60s style and then a pop outfit from the 90s," said cast member Kaleigh Cronin.

Everything is rigged with buttons and magnets to make changing a snap. The girls don't have a lot of time to change between songs; the quickest costume change happens in just eight seconds!

And to top it off, there's about a dozen wigs for each lady.

"Having the costume and finally the wig. You know exactly who you are and can switch into that person when you get on stage," said cast member Marlana Dunn.

They'll take the stage with songs we all know and love.

"Jersey Boys" runs for two weeks at the Hippodrome. Tickets are still available.
