Ryan Wilson of CBSSports.com and the blog “Eye on Football” joined Zinno on “Last Call” to discuss the Ravens Thanksgiving night match-up with Pittsburgh and other NFL headlines. Joe Flacco’s comments on the wildcat offense made national headlines today. Ryan Wilson backed the Ravens quarterback saying, “I believe even Steelers fans support what Joe Flacco is saying. So what happens if he tries to throw a block and blows out his knee? Who does that reflect poorly on? It makes John Harbaugh look like he doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
The Steelers won the first meeting between the two teams. Wilson says the difference is simply, “Roethlisberger is playing better. It’s not so much because he’s improved since last time, but the offensive line is playing much better. I think it starts with the offensive line.” The Steelers passing offense is in the top 10 so far this season.
Both teams are 5-6 and fighting for the final playoff spot. Both gentlemen agree that the winner of this game is playing for the right to get eliminated from the playoffs first. “The other storyline is how are the Steelers suddenly in the playoff mix? And how are they ahead of the Ravens?,” said Wilson. “The loser of this game basically goes home in week 13.”
