New Annapolis Mayor Inaugurated At Ceremony

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The new mayor of Annapolis has been inaugurated.

Michael Pantelides was sworn in Monday afternoon at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts.

Pantelides, a Republican, defeated Democratic incumbent Josh Cohen last month in a race that was considered for days too close to call.

Pantelides announced on Sunday the first appointments in his administration, despite talk on the City Council of possibly stripping the mayor’s office of much of its power.
