2 Injured, 1 Critically, In Ellicott City Fire

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say two members of an Ellicott City family were injured, one critically, in a house fire.

The Howard County fire department says the blaze broke out around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. One man was critically injured after firefighters found him unconscious in a stairwell. He was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

A relative of the man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. A third family member wasn't hurt.

The fire department says it was difficult for firefighters to access the home, which is located on a one-lane road. The two-alarm fire took about an hour to bring under control, and the home is expected to be declared uninhabitable.
