LOCHEARN, Md. (WJZ) — A minivan crashed in Lochearn and its driver was found shot to death inside. Investigators are still trying to piece together the murder mystery.

Kai Jackson spoke with police at the scene.

Baltimore County Police are asking for the public’s help to find the killer.

Baltimore County Police arrived on the scene of a fatal shooting in Lochearn. Police say it happened at the intersection of Alter and Southern Cross about 6:50 p.m. Monday. It was reported as a crash but found to be much worse.

“Once the officers responded to the scene, they attempted to treat the victim, who was inside the car that had crashed into the fence. Upon trying to treat the victim, they discovered that the victim had been shot at least once,” said Baltimore County Police Lt. Rob McCullough.

The victim was driving a minivan and crashed it after being shot.

Medics also responded and tried to treat him but police say that person–an adult male–died at the scene.

Police believe the man lived very close to the location where he was killed.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many suspects were involved, or whether they were on foot or also driving.

“We just continue to investigate this case. We’re asking anyone that might have information about this crime to contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-307-2020,” McCullough said.

You could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 through Metro Crime Stoppers if information about this crime leads to an arrest and conviction.
