Baltimore Ravens linebacker and 2014 Ed Block Courage Award winner Jameel McClain joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn. Scott kicked off the interview by asking Jameel what it was like to be chosen as the winner from the Ravens for the award. “It was one of those things to be selected by your teammates it’s an amazing thing.”
Jameel was injured in December of 2012 against the Redskins. Scott and Jeremy asked Jameel what was the rehab process like. “To be honest there really was no rehab, all I could really do is rest it.” They were also curious what it was like to be injured and be out of the loop with things. Jameel said he really didn’t miss a beat. “I did everything in my power to make sure I stayed connected with the team. It started out during the Super Bowl run so I never missed a meeting then, even coming into this season I never missed a meeting.”
And finally Jameel said he was very honored to receive the award because of what the foundation stands for. “Ed Block represents everything I stand for; it gives these kids hope and shows them there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
