Man Taken Into Custody At Md. Mall After Threats

BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a man was taken into custody at Montgomery Mall after threatening to kill workers at a luggage store.

Police say George Hong Sik Chin, 31, of Rockville was taken into custody Tuesday night and was being held for an emergency evaluation.

Employees at the Tumi luggage store told police that Chin became aggressive, complaining about the prices and saying he was going to kill them.  When police found Chin at the mall, they say he made rambling statements, saying he had not taken his prescribed medication.

Police say Chin did not assault anyone and no weapons were found on him or in his truck. Police say a small amount of suspected marijuana was found in his truck and drug charges are pending.
