Absolutely Febulous! Restaurant Week & More Begins In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It may be cold outside, but Baltimore is heating up this month with great deals. It's not just Restaurant Week--there are offers for hotel accommodations and tickets to attractions around town.

If snow and winter weather have you a bit cabin crazy, the solution may be as close as the city--and it's an "Absolutely Febulous" idea.

"So this year, Restaurant Week is part of something we're calling `Absolutely Febulous.' It's combining the great deals of Museum Week, Restaurant Week and Hotel Week," said Sara Warfield, Visit Baltimore. "So it's an opportunity to get out and see the attractions. You can book an overnight stay and really make a really fun outing out of it."

Visit Baltimore announced "Absolutely Febulous." The event lasts through next week with packaged offers to eat and deals to stay at several area hotels.

"Staycation, a getaway... romantic, with your friends, with your family. There's great family hotel packages out there, as well," Warfield said.

Plus, there are added opportunities to play, observe, or, if you prefer, just reflect at a local attraction.

The "eat" part is where restaurants like Sotto Sopra on Charles Street come in. General Manager Mallory Staley doesn't expect tables to be empty much longer.

"People I think are now at the point where they're like, `Ten inches of snow; I'm trucking out anyway.' So put on the boots and go," she said.

A hundred locations are hoping you'll eat, stay and play while having a "Febulous" time through the 23rd.
