Orioles beat reporter for MLB.com and an insider for MLB Network, Brittany Ghiroli joined Ken and Steve on the Norris and Davis show to discuss the Orioles’ late off-season acquisitions.
Steve asked Brittany about the Nelson Cruz signing. Brittany thinks the signing is great because the O’s haven’t had a real DH in years and its a low risk high reward signing.
Ken asks Brittany what has changed lately with the O’s signings and why they have been spending money. Brittany says that the late signings are a product of the system. The veteran older players are available this late in the season because of the draft pick compensations that teams have to give up to sign them.
