Coast Guardsman Convicted In Sexual Assaults

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Coast Guardsman was convicted during a general court-martial on charges relating to sexual assaults of two female Coast Guardsmen.

Officials say 38-year-old Petty Officer 1st Class Brian Green was convicted Thursday at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington. He was convicted of violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, including wrongful sexual contact, engaging in sexual misconduct and cruelty and maltreatment.

Green was sentenced Friday to a reduction to pay grade E-3, confinement for four months and a bad conduct discharge.

The crimes occurred between January 2012 and August 2012 while all three members were assigned to a shore-based Coast Guard unit in Washington, D.C.

Green was assigned to Coast Guard Sector Baltimore while he awaited court-martial.
