WEATHER BLOG: Big Saturday Warmup

Our chilly March weather continues, but there are signs of a warmup coming our way! On Friday, there will be a system passing to our south which will bring plenty of clouds and even a bit of rain to Southern Maryland and the lower Eastern Shore. It is possible that, if that area of light precipitation moves far enough north, there may be some very light freezing drizzle as far north as parts of Anne Arundel County in the early morning. Temperatures will be very close to that freezing mark until they begin to warm after 11 a.m. on Friday.

During the afternoon, only light rain is expected and most of that will fall south and east of the metro Baltimore area. Once this batch of moisture moves away, it sets the stage for a nice, big Saturday warmup! I expect temperatures to reach the mid 50s under partly sunny skies, so get out your soap buckets and wash the salt off your car for a change!
