GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)— A Glen Burnie man is arrested for pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend and cutting her with a knife during a heated altercation Wednesday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. in the 300-block of Old Stage Road.

Witnesses told police Thomas Maurice Sellman, 21, got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. During the altercation, they say he pointed a shotgun at her and other individuals in the home. When they managed to get the shotgun away from Sellman, witnesses say he then produced a knife. Another altercation ensued, during which time Sellman allegedly cut his girlfriend on her hand.

Sellman then fled from the residence on foot.

Officers, with the assistance of a K-9 police, found Sellman hiding in another apartment building stairwell in the area. He was taken into custody without incident.

Sellman was charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

The victim was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for a non-life threatening injury.

The other victims in the residence were not hurt.
