14-Year-Old Charged With Attempted Robbery, Assault In Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)— A 14-year-old boy is charged for assaulting a 12-year-old boy in an attempted robbery in Glen Burnie.

The 12-year-old victim told police he was walking on Allen Road in the area of Heritage Hill Drive on Monday around 8 p.m. when a teen asked him what he had in his possession.

The victim told the suspect he didn't have anything. The suspect then grabbed him by the neck and asked again. The victim broke away and ran. The suspect chased the victim, punched him in the back and then fled after the victim reached a residence.

Officers searched the area and were able to locate a boy matching the description of the suspect. The victim was driven to the scene and positively identified him as the suspect.

The 14-year-old suspect is charged with attempted robbery and second-degree assault.

The victim was not injured and declined any medical attention.
