Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bake
1/3 tsp Cinnamon
3 Packets instant oatmeal
½ tsp Honey or maple syrup
¼ cup of Milk or water
Handful of chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans) (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 375. Wash, peel and remove the core from the apples. Chop the apples into equal size chunks. Place apples in medium sized saucepan pour in ¼ cup of milk (or water), 1/3 tsp cinnamon and ½ tsp honey (or maple syrup). Let boil for about 5 minutes until apples are soft.
Pour apples into a baking pan. Top with 3 instant oatmeal packets and chopped nuts (if desired) Bake at 375 for about 20-30min. Enjoy!!
Best if eaten warm. (tastes good with a bit of milk or yogurt)
Look for instant oatmeal that is low in sugar. I used one packet of Quaker Reduced Sugar Instant Original Oatmeal and 2 packets of Kirkland’s Signature (found at Costco) Maple Syrup Oatmeal.
Great for breakfast or a healthy desert.
