WEATHER BLOG: Monitor Local Watches/Warnings

Tuesday ended up being very chilly and raw, weather-wise.

Temps much of the day have basically gone nowhere, thanks to the moisture in place as well as the easterly flow of chilly air off of the ocean. The overall setup that we described Monday still seems to be on target. Generally thinking a solid 3-5" of rain will fall across the region with the heaviest rainfall moving in overnight and Wednesday.

The other aspect of this storm system will be the possibility of thunderstorms, some of which could turn severe Wednesday afternoon and evening. Winds will shift out of the south, filtering in more Gulf moisture and warmer air. This will increase our instability and potential for storms to develop and initiate. Be sure to monitor local watches and warnings until the storm passes early Thursday.
